Milutin Osmajic Plays 90 Minutes For Montenegro In Qualifying Victory

17 November 2023

Milutin Osmajić played the full 90 minutes for Montenegro in their victory over Lithuania on Thursday evening, in a qualifier for UEFA EURO 2024.

The North End forward, who scored for his country against Lebanon during the previous international break, was named in the starting XI for Montenegro’s penultimate qualifier.

Heading into the two-game break, they knew they needed six points to be in with a chance of reaching next year’s tournament automatically, and even then they need results elsewhere to go in their favour.

They completed the first part of the task at hand, though, by beating Lithuania 2-0, courtesy of early goals in each half from Edvin Kuč and Stevan Jovetić respectively.

It was Milutin’s first full 90 minutes for his country since March 2022, when he started and completed a friendly against Armenia.

Next on the cards for North End’s No.28 and his fellow countrymen is a tricky visit to the already-qualified group leaders Hungary.

Montenegro require three points from the match, while also needing Bulgaria to beat Serbia, who currently occupy the second and final automatic qualification spot.
