Preston North End can confirm clauses in Greg Cunningham’s contract have been triggered which will now see the defender stay at the club until at least 30th June 2024.
The Irishman signed a new deal at Deepdale in June this year until 31st December 2023, with fitness and availability clauses included which would trigger an extension until the summer.
Greg has already reached the terms of those clauses and will now remain with North End – who he has made 175 appearances for – until June next year.
Greg said: “It’s nice for me to know now I’ve got that security of being here for the rest of the season with the team, and who knows what comes after that.
“It’s just good to have already hit that first goal and now it’s about trying to rack up as many games as I can, do as well as I can for the club, and help the team wherever I can.”
