Jordan Storey feels Preston North End have used the disappointment of losing late at Leeds United in January as motivation in the matches which have followed.
North End put in an impressive display at Elland Road after going ahead inside the opening minute but were dealt a sucker punch as the hosts won it late with a stoppage-time penalty.
Since then, though, Ryan Lowe’s side have picked up ten points from four matches, including three successive victories.
Jordan said: “I think everyone’s feeling really upbeat at the moment. I think we’ve hit form at the right time.
“Obviously it was a bit of a poor run prior to the past five or six games so to bounce back now at a critical time of the season has been really good.
“I think if you look at the Leeds game we were bitterly disappointed with that. I think we sort of used that in our favour to make sure we got the job done in a few games.
“We held off Middlesbrough quite well the other night and it was getting a bit cagey with Ipswich but we managed to get the job done so we’ve got to stay positive and stay on it.
“There’s some big games coming up. Obviously we’ve got Blackburn tomorrow, a derby, and then Coventry, so as long as we keep our focus and stay solid like we have been the last few games we’ll be alright.”
PNE will be looking to do the double over their Lancashire rivals, following victory at Ewood Park in November last year.
It was some night in East Lancashire as Liam Lindsay headed home a 90th-minute winner in front of a packed away end.
Jordan said: “I think we believed towards the back end of the game that we could go and get something from it.
“To do it was great and to win against your rivals in the last minute, I don’t think there’s many better feelings than that in football.
“It was great to nick it in the final few minutes. I think the fans really enjoyed that one and I think if we can sort of replicate that tomorrow it’d be great.”
