Noah Ready To Give Everything

13 February 2024

Noah Mawene is grateful to Preston North End for giving him the chance to have a “good go” at setting up a career at Deepdale.

The 19-year-old has signed a new deal with the club which has seen him extend his stay until at least the summer of 2026.

Within those years, Noah hopes to keep learning and build on the three senior appearances he’s already made.

He said: “I’m very pleased and very grateful. It’s another two years to have a really good go at setting up a career so I can’t complain.

“I’m just trying to still learn and I’m looking forward to it. I need to thank the club straight away for getting it done.

“The plan’s just to keep working and try to find a way now to set up a career in the next two years.

“The club have given me another opportunity to have a good go at it and the least I can do is work hard, give everything and have no regrets.”

The midfielder made his senior bow for the club in December 2022, coming on in a fantastic 4-1 victory over Blackburn Rovers at Ewood Park.

Since then, he’s been involved in a number of matchday squads and two appearances have followed, against Sheffield Wednesday and Leicester City respectively.

Noah said: “It’s always nice when you’ve got a gaffer who will pull you along and say, ‘You’ll come with us even as the extra man.’

“I’ve got no complaints at all if I’m on the bench or if I’m not. It can be different [experiences] and you’ve just got to prepare for every game like you’re going to start and that’s what I try to do.

“It’s been good. It gives you a taste of what Championship football’s like, and you keep wanting to get more.

“I’ve just got to thank the gaffer really for them opportunities.”
