Milutin Osmajic Features In Belgium Friendly

6 June 2024

Milutin Osmajić played 87 minutes for Montenegro in their 2-0 defeat to Belgium on Wednesday night.

North End’s forward was named in the starting XI to face the Red Devils, who are preparing for EURO 2024, where they will face Slovakia, Romania and Ukraine in the group stage.

The hosts were the side on top during the early stages in Brussels and they took the lead just before the break as Kevin De Bruyne took advantage of a defensive mistake to score on his landmark 100th appearance for his country.

Milly, who last scored for Montenegro in October 2023, could have found himself on the scoresheet if it wasn’t for a great stop by Koen Casteels.

PNE’s No.28 had used his pace to break free of Axel Witsel and he sent a low effort across goal looking for the far corner, but the ‘keeper stuck out a strong right hand to deny the striker.

Milutin was then taken off in the 87th minute and just moments later Montenegro were down to ten, with Miloš Brnović receiving a second yellow card, and they then conceded a late penalty which Leandro Trossard finished off.

Montenegro will now head home to take on Georgia on Sunday 9th June, with that clash getting underway at 7.45pm.
