Walk And Talk For Lilywhites

Preston North End Community and Education Trust is launching a new walking group for men and women of all ages; Walk And Talk For Lilywhites.

Walk And Talk For Lilywhites will be running from 10.30am every Thursday, from 29th July, encouraging people to combine the benefits of face-to-face social interaction and physical exercise by walking around Moor Park alongside like-minded people and PNECET staff.

There is no limit on participant numbers for the PNECET Walk and Talk For Lilywhites group, however, those wishing to take part must complete our online registration form ahead of their first session, which you can access by clicking the link below.

The group is running in partnership with Walk & Talk 4 Men, a men’s mental health support group that meets a couple of times a month to allow people to chat in a safe space without judgement.

The new PNECET Walk And Talk For Lilywhites group is for both men and women, of all ages, while the Walk & Talk 4 Men groups, running separately to PNECET’s own provision, remains for men only.

PNECET Health and Wellbeing Officer Hannah White said: “We’re pleased to be partnering with Walk & Talk 4 Men to extend our mental wellbeing provision with the launch of Walk And Talk For Lilywhites.

“Walk And Talk For Lilywhites will provide new and existing PNECET participants, both men and women, with the opportunity to meet and enjoy face-to-face conversation while reaping the physical benefits from walking around Moor Park, a fantastic setting across from our proud Deepdale home.

“The opportunity for participants to meet in person is so important after the last 18 months and we can’t wait to get the programme started.”

Robert Flood of Walk & Talk 4 Men added: “During these times, it’s even more important to bring people together to talk.

“With Walk and Talk, we can do this in a neutral environment, shoulder-to-shoulder, and talk and walk. It’s been so important to help my own mental health struggles, and I hope it helps others.”

The first Walk And Talk For Lilywhites session will run on Thursday 29th July and you can sign-up to join the programme by clicking here. Alternatively, for more information, please contact hannah.white@pne.com.
