Community spirit in its truest form was shown at Deepdale last week as all four corners of the community came together to do their bit for the PNE Christmas Donation Centre.
North End ran a six day Christmas Donation Centre all last week in its community offices, and received visitors from all walks of the community who donated non-perishable foods, toiletries, warm clothing and new gifts for children.
Although it was almost impossible to calculate the sheer mass of items donated from the general public, we are certain the items donated to Rock FM’s Cash for Kids and the Foxton Centre will make a huge difference this Christmas to the families and individuals who need it the most at this time of the year.
You may have noticed Rock FM’s van and volunteers from PNE’s NCS graduate programme during the Millwall game who collected all of the toys donated from the donation centre, whilst it took two full cars to drop off all of the items that were donated to the Foxton Centre earlier this week.
We would like to place on record our heartfelt thanks to every single person who took part in our campaign.
As well as the items from the donation centre - during the course of the campaign:
- 36 tickets were donated to the Foxton Centre for North End’s game against Hull City on Boxing Day.
- £250 worth of children’s toys were bought by the Trust for Rock FM’s Cash For Kids.
- £250 was also given to the Foxton Centre to resurface its pool table.
- £61 was also raised by PNE staff from Christmas Jumper Day.
North End would also like to thank Display Wizard for supplying the marketing materials for the project.
