Biffa are bringing their ‘Chip And Bin’ game to Deepdale for Saturday's match against Bristol City!
The game will be situated outside the stadium, at the corner of the Sir Tom Finney Stand and the Alan Kelly Town End, and can be tried out for free in the lead-up to kick-off.
It's all to raise awareness of the Big PNE Sleep Out taking place at Deepdale later this year, with Biffa one of the organisers alongside Preston North End Community and Education Trust, Blog Preston, the Foxton Centre and Shout Network.
Hundreds of people will be taking part in the sponsored overnight sleep out on Friday 15th November in aid of the Foxton Centre, with the fundraising target of £50,000 set to be used to build and renovate a property in Preston for use by homeless people.
With homelessness figures on the rise, the waste management industry is facing increasing numbers of rough sleepers turning to waste containers as a source of shelter; putting their lives at risk when the waste is collected.
Biffa are currently working in partnership with the Chartered Institution of Waste Management and the Open University to undertake research into the issue.
“We’re really pleased to be working with the Foxton Centre, Preston North End and Blog Preston to raise funds and support the Big PNE Sleepout later this year as well as promote the work we do nationally for homeless people” said Peter Hale, Regional Sales Manager for the North West at Biffa.
“We also want to challenge the misconception that Biffa only provide services to big businesses – we’re also working with local and smaller businesses and charities around the country, and we want to make a positive difference to the communities we work in”.
“We have been and continue to be present and involved in a number of events across the region, with the ‘Biffa Chip & Bin’ activation raising funds. People will have the opportunity to give it a go themselves at Preston North End on Saturday.”
We will also be giving four free tickets away to the highest scorer of the game on the day, to any home game of their choosing before the end of 2019, so there's ample reason to get involved!
