Bill Shankly Kop To Host Sleep Out

23 September 2019

The Big PNE Sleep Out taking place at Deepdale in aid of the Foxton Centre later this year will be held in the Bill Shankly Kop.

Usually housing away supporters on a matchday, the stand named after the man who played almost 300 league games for Preston North End will have its gates opened overnight from Friday 15th November as hundreds of people assist the bid to raise £50,000 for the Foxton Centre.

The Kop allows ease of access for all, meaning there won’t be any disability restrictions for those wishing to participate.

An information evening was held at the Foxton Centre earlier this month to shed some more light on details of the Sleep Out.

Those wishing to take part need to register for the event by the deadline of Friday 1st November – two weeks before the Sleep Out itself – and must be at least 18-years-old.

Every individual taking part is assigned their own Total Giving online fundraising page. However, participants do not need to collect their donations exclusively online to reach the £100 individual sponsorship target and can download a paper collection form here. Money raised via this form, however, must be paid to the Foxton Centre by Monday 23rd December 2019.

Biffa will provide a sheet of cardboard for each person to lie on for the night, but individuals will need to bring other items such as a sleeping bag and warm clothes. Bringing a hot drink, water and snacks is recommended. Alcohol and drugs are not permitted.

Louis Moult Backs Businesses To Get Involved In PNE’s Big Sleepout With Six Months To Go

15 May 2019

More than 200 people have now signed up for the Sleep Out, organised by PNE Community and Education Trust, Biffa, Blog Preston, Shout Network and the Foxton Centre itself.

The targeted £50,000 fundraising amount would be used for the Foxton Centre to buy and renovate a house in Preston for use by homeless people.

Want to get involved – either as an individual or as a business? Individuals’ fundraising targets are set at £100, while businesses are asked to raise £250, £500 or £1,000 depending on the size of their company.

You can register for the Sleep Out by signing up on the Foxton Centre website. Alternatively, download this form and send your completed copy to john.parkinson@talk21.com.

If you’ve already signed up – let us know! Confirm your attendance on our Facebook event page and share your story online using #pnesleepout.
