Preston North End Community and Education Trust’s Friday Walking Football session will return from Friday 1st May, more than one year on from the last session.
Walking Football has not been running since the Coronavirus pandemic hit last March, but is now set for a comeback with Covid-19 measures in place, ensuring the safety of all participants and staff.

The return will begin with the reintroduction of the Friday Walking Football session, with the sessions that previously ran on Tuesday and Thursday evenings yet to return.
The Friday session will be made up of two one-hour-long slots; from 11am until 12 noon, and from 12 noon until 1pm. Players are advised to be arrive in good time, to ensure the smooth running of both sessions.
There is a cost of £3 to attend either of the one-hour sessions, which must be paid to the exact cash amount, with no change available.
Participants must book their place in advance by using the form on PNE.Com and indicating their preferred time slot. Places are limited due to Covid-19 measures and will be allocated on a first come, first serve basis. Alternatively, participants can call Health and Wellbeing Officer Hannah White on 07880071548 to provide their details.
Players must complete the booking form on PNE.Com before 2.30pm on a Thursday to be eligible to play that week.
Players will be split into five-a-side teams for the entirety of their one-hour session and will face the same team throughout the session to limit social mixing.
It is essential that players bring a face mask and arrive ready to play, as changing rooms will be closed. All those attending will be required to complete a Covid-19 symptoms questionnaire upon arrival, have their temperature checked, and use hand sanitiser at regular intervals before, during and after the session.
The social hour which previously followed the Friday session is not currently running.
