City Centre Covid-19 Testing Supported By Trust Staff

15 February 2021

Preston North End Community and Education Trust staff are working in partnership with Preston City Council to support Covid-19 lateral flow testing operations at the Harris Museum.

Since the military have stepped back from the supporting the service, Trust staff have been supporting the city centre operation, which is offering regular testing for employees of Preston businesses who do not have Covid-19 symptoms.

Lateral flow is a rapid testing method that provides results within half an hour of taking a test. Trust staff are now also being tested weekly at Deepdale.

The service has been set-up by Preston City Council and is open on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays from 9am to 5pm, and full training has been provided for staff to support the service safely and effectively.

Head of community Tom Drake said: “We are pleased to be supporting the Covid-19 lateral flow testing operations at the Harris Museum with some of our staff using their time to assist the smooth running of this vital service.

“The lateral flow testing is offering employees of Preston businesses who do not have Covid-19 symptoms the opportunity to be tested on a regular basis.

“We hope that this will help identify any asymptomatic individuals, and in turn drive down infection rates, which over time will help Preston, and the country, get back to some sense of normality, which is what we are all looking forward to.”
