Preston North End Community and Education Trust has surprised lifelong supporter Keith Hunt for his 90th birthday.
Keith was delighted to receive a Preston North End shirt with the No.90 on the back to commemorate the landmark occasion.
He was also given a birthday card, pennant and copies of the matchday programme, on a socially distanced visit from Trust staff.
Kate, one of Keith’s daughters, later told the Trust following the visit: “A huge thank you to everyone concerned!
“I’m gutted that I’m not able to get down to see dad for his birthday because of the restrictions so I really, really appreciate the special efforts that PNE have made to mark his 90th birthday in such a special way. Thank you!”
Staff visited Keith as part of the Tackling Loneliness Together programme, an EFL Trust initiative supporting isolated elderly people as a result of the Coronavirus pandemic.
The Trust has been paying garden gate visits to those who are lonely or isolated through the programme, as well as making friendly phone calls and hosting online meetings and chats via Zoom to engage the community.
