PNECET To Offer Free Packed Lunch Collection Service In Half-Term

21 October 2021

Preston North End Community and Education Trust will provide a free meal service in October half-term with the aim of supporting children who are eligible for free school meals.

Lunches will be available for collection on a first come, first served basis from the community offices at Deepdale, located at the back of the Alan Kelly Town End on Alan Kelly Walk, between the hours of 12 noon and 1.30pm from Monday 25th October to Friday 29th October.

Containing a sandwich, crisps, a piece of fruit and a bottle of water, meals can be collected without any prior contact or registration.

PNECET Deputy CEO Harriet Creighton-Levis said: “We understand that many families may be put in a difficult position during school half-terms, especially those whose children ordinarily rely on accessing free school meals.

“Our free lunch collection service this half-term will look to provide support to any family who requires it, as we look to alleviate the financial and emotional stresses on parents and guardians who may need some assistance in providing for their families.

“We want to express that we are here to help families in need as much as we can, and assure anyone considering using our service that they can do so in a welcoming and respectful environment, where no judgement will be cast.”
