Class Of The Week Ticket Initiative To Reward Primary School Children

27 January 2022

Preston North End Community and Education Trust [PNECET] will welcome at least one ‘Class of the Week’ from a local primary school to all remaining Preston North End home games this season.

All pupils in a successfully nominated ‘Class of the Week’ will receive a match ticket, and to allow those children to attend the game alongside an adult, the same number of adult tickets will also be provided to the school.

Classes can be nominated for any reason, whether it be in relation to their achievements in the classroom, during their PE lessons, going above and beyond at their school outside of lesson time or for any other deserving cause.

Hoole St Michaels Church of England Primary School – a new primary partner school of the Trust from the start of the 2021/22 academic year – is set to be the first school to benefit from the initiative at this weekend’s fixture against Bristol City.

Nominations for classes from all primary schools in Preston and the surrounding areas are welcomed and can be sent via email to jack.mountain@pne.com. Email nominations should be titled ‘Class of the Week’ and must include the name and year group of the class and the reason for their nomination.

Schools Provision Coordinator Jack Mountain said: “We’re excited to be launching the Class of the Week scheme and to be inviting a class of Hoole St Michaels C of E Primary School pupils as the first children to benefit from the initiative this weekend.

“Every day, our Primary Schools Provision team comes face-to-face with some fantastic children doing brilliant things both in and outside the classroom, and in and out of school. Using the power and appeal of Preston North End, we’re keen to reward those pupils by inviting them to support Preston North End at Deepdale.

“We’re also looking forward to engaging with pupils from our non-partner schools and getting to know more about the brilliant things they are doing in and out of school in the hope that we can encourage them to show their support for Preston North End.

“We’re thankful for the club’s backing of this initiative in donating a significant number of both adult and children’s tickets for every home fixture for the remainder of the season, and in return, we hope to welcome a number of new junior supporters to Deepdale.”

During 2021, PNECET engaged with almost 3,000 primary school pupils, working with 45 primary schools as part of the Premier League Primary Stars programme.

As part of the Primary Stars programme, PNECET offers a Bronze, Silver or Gold partner school package, under which members of staff from the club’s official charity deliver inspiring and engaging cross-curricular PE lessons in those schools every day, with a number of additional benefits also offered as part of each package.

There are currently 19 primary schools signed up as partner schools of PNECET!
