Free Children’s Get Stuck In Holiday Club Running At Three Venues In August

13 July 2022

Preston North End Community and Education Trust will deliver the free Get Stuck In programme for four weeks throughout August, providing children aged five to 11-years-old with free lunches and physical and educational activity sessions.

Get Stuck In is a free programme coordinated by Lancashire charity Spring North, which aims to provide a positive impact on the lives of children and young people by challenging societal inequalities and disadvantages through its work.

The programme forms part of the government Holiday Activities and Food programme to support children eligible for free school meals outside of term time, and has been delivered by PNECET several times in the past; including at Easter when 100 places were provided for eligible children.

PNECET will again be one of 12 providers of the Get Stuck In this summer, with the programme being delivered across three venues, where children can experience an exciting range of activities with skills games, small-sided competitions, arts and crafts and inflatable games. Lunches are provided throughout the programme.

The programme will run at Deepdale from Tuesday 2nd August until Friday 26th August, from 10am until 2pm on weekdays, and at Tanterton Village Centre from Monday 1st August until Friday 26th August, again from 10am until 2pm on weekdays.

Meanwhile, the programme will also run at Ribbleton Avenue Infant School, exclusively for the school’s students, from Monday 1st August until Thursday 25th August, from 10am until 2pm on weekdays.

Bookings will be allocated on a priority basis for children eligible for free school meals, and can be reserved by visiting the Get Stuck In website and selecting Preston North End Community and Education Trust as your chosen provider.
