Over 100 Women And Girls Sign With PNE Women For 2022/23

13 July 2022

More than 100 women and girls have signed with Preston North End Women’s FC for the 2022/23 season from its youngest age group at U10 level right through to the open-age first team.

Girls of all ages put pen to paper in the Invincibles Lounge last Thursday evening to commit to the club for the new campaign, with a return to training imminent this week.

The club held four highly successful open training nights during June which have led to growth in the playing squads across the age groups for the new campaign.

That included four new signings at first team level while 20 first team players from last term have been officially retained for the new campaign and more of last season’s squad are still expected to re-sign for 2022/23.

There has also been the opportunity for last season’s U16s to move up to open-age level, signing with the newly formed development squad – of which more details will be confirmed in due course – while also having the opportunity to challenge for a place in the first team.

New players are still being sought and recruited by Preston North End Women’s FC at all levels, with the goalkeeping department a position of priority at open-age level.

Players wishing to join the women’s team at open-age level are invited to complete the PNEWFC online expression of interest form, after which a member of the women’s team set-up will be in touch to disccuss your submission.

The first team will begin their campaign in late August, before the development squad kick-off the new season in September. Friendly matches for the first team and development team are still being sought and arranged ahead of the new season.
