Class Of The Week Ticket Initiative Relaunched For 2022/23 Season

15 September 2022

Preston North End Community and Education Trust [PNECET] will continue to reward deserving classes of Preston primary school children with complimentary match tickets to Preston North End home fixtures in the 2022/23 season with its ‘Class of the Week’ initiative.

The Class of the Week initiative was launched midway through last season, seeing hundreds of primary school children invited to watch Preston North End home games at Deepdale as a reward for their achievements both in and outside the classroom.

The initiative will reward children from partner schools who are engaged on the Premier League Primary Stars programme with PNECET, with nominations also welcomed from school staff members of non-partner primary schools.

Every child from the chosen class for each game will receive two complimentary match tickets for their allocated fixture to allow them to attend with an accompanying adult.

The first selected ‘Class of the Week’ of the 2022/23 season will be Kennington Primary School’s Year 1 class, who have been recognised for their efforts in PE lessons with PNECET.

The class have shown a determination to improve in their throwing and catching lessons, developing their fundamental movement skills.

Schools Provision Co-ordinator Olivia Parkinson, who leads on the Trust’s Premier League Primary Stars programme, said: “We’re pleased to be continuing to offer the Class of the Week initiative to classes of primary school children in Preston and the surrounding areas for the remainder of the season.

“Through our Premier League Primary Stars programme, we are fortunate to interact with thousands of children each year and support them with improving their skills in various sports in PE, all while carrying the Preston North End badge which is a fantastic way to engage children through the power of sport.

“By continuing the Class of the Week initiative for this season, we’re looking forward to welcoming not only children from our partner schools – but those from other schools, too – to provide an opportunity for children to watch their local sporting idols when they might not otherwise have been able to get to Deepdale.”

To nominate a class to benefit from the Class of the Week initiative, please email olivia.parkinson@pne.com stating the name and year group of the nominated class along with a reason for their nomination, using ‘Class of the Week’ in the subject title of your email. Parents, guardians and friends and family of children who wish to nominate a class should contact their school.

The Premier League Primary Stars programme sees cross-curricular PE lessons delivered in partner schools across Preston every week to support children’s learning through the power and appeal of Preston North End. Almost 3,000 pupils were positively impacted by the programme in 2021 with more than 20 primary schools now signed up as partner schools.
