Secondary school learners receiving their GCSE results next week can continue to enrol with Preston's Centre of Sporting Excellence, the official education partnership between PNECET and Preston College, providing high-quality, technical education programmes.
The Centre of Sporting Excellence offers Diploma in Sport qualifications at levels one, two and three, with the option of a sports science or sports coaching pathway at level three.
Thanks to a collaborative partnership with Preston College, learners are able to access and enjoy high-quality facilities such as a gym, sports hall, 3G pitches and a strength and conditioning suite.
There are exciting opportunities to train and develop with UEFA and FA qualified coaches, compete in a range of other sports against other colleges, gain exclusive work experience within the sports industry, partake in international trips away from Preston College and represent Preston North End in national football leagues such as the EFL Community and Education Football Alliance League.
On the programme, you will study a variety of modules that will give you a direct insight into a variety of jobs within the sport sector. Learners will enjoy a mixture of theoretical and practical units such as the Principals of Anatomy and Physiology, Exercise Health and Lifestyle and Fitness Testing.
Engagement in such activities and experiences allows for learners to secure an interest and further develop that interest through applying for university and apprenticeships in the field.
