PNECET Works With British Transport Police To Deliver Anti-Knife Crime Workshop

3 June 2023

Preston's young people have been educated on the dangers of knife crime, through an informative workshop delivered in partnership between Preston North End Community and Education Trust [PNECET] and the British Transport Police.

This activity comes as part of 'Operation Sceptre', a nationally run campaign which helps raise awareness of the dangers of knife crime and the work being done to stop it.

Over 30 young people from the Trust's Community Engagement provision, including Premier League Kicks and Champions, were invited to Deepdale for a stadium tour and hot meal, before engaging in workshop activity held in the Community offices.

Firstly, PNECET Casual Coach, John Richardson, spoke about his powerful life story going to prison at a young age, transforming his lifestyle into a positive one and advice for the young people to choose their friends carefully and stay focused in school.

The British Transport Police then presented an educational talk on the dangers of knife crime and the impact it can have on yourself and those around you, featuring first-hand accounts of those who have been affected.
