Trainees Improve Employability Skills With PNECET

2 May 2023

Trainees on Preston North End Community and Education Trust's Traineeship programme have been improving their employability skills and growing in confidence.

The Traineeship programme is a bespoke 12-week programme for 16 to 24-year-olds and supports young people to gain both work experience and valuable qualifications to improve their employability skills.

Platon Tsuz, who arrived in England as a Ukrainian refugee, has been gaining work experience in the field of Customer Service; learning how to communicate with customers and provide a high quality, professional service.

Mohammed Amla has a keen interest in Marketing and Communications and thanks to the Traineeship programme, he has been able to further develop that interest at Preston Community Hub, producing digital content for the charity.

There are career development opportunities for those accessing the programme within several disciplines, including hospitality, media, business administration, youth work, sports coaching and catering.

The programme is made up of classroom learning, work experience and opportunities and other essential skills, including looking at writing a CV, job applications and mock interviews.

Candidates must be aged between 16 to 24-years-old, be unemployed or working fewer than 16 hours a week, and educated to Level 3 or below.
