PNECET To Host Two Iftars At Deepdale This Ramadan

19 March 2024

Through the ongoing One North End campaign, in conjunction with the Club, we have continued to break down barriers in our community and have forged greater relationships with local underrepresented community groups.

The impact we’ve seen from One North End, and following on from the successes of previous years, including our Ramadan project winning the EFL Project of the Season Award in 2022, we are inviting the local community to join us for two special Iftar events this Holy Month at Deepdale.

You can sign up for the first Iftar, taking place this Friday 22nd March, by clicking the link here.

We are also grateful to our event sponsor, Roccia, an award-winning family business and the UK’s largest tile, bath and kitchen showroom, for providing all of the food for both Iftars as we come together to promote peace and unity within our community.

Both Iftars will take place in the Greats Room at Deepdale, with parking in the Sir Tom Finney car park, at the front of the stadium. Doors will open at 4:45pm for a 5pm start, before doors close at 5:30pm. The evening will be themed around the promotion of peace in Preston and the wider community.

The programme will commence with Asr at 5pm, followed by a few updates from our Equality, Diversity and Inclusion Officer, Mo Patel. Attendees can look forward to engaging presentations, including poems and Quran readings by students from Eden Boys and Preston Muslim Girls School.

Throughout the event, we'll also host inter-faith talks, where guests from various religious communities will share their perspectives on peace in Preston. The evening will culminate with a closing talk and prayer by our Imam before the fast opens at 6:34pm, with dates and water provided.

After Maghrib prayer, guests will enjoy a delicious meal, with the menu including chicken legs, lamb biryani, veg biryani and semolina pudding.

Following the first Iftar, we encourage everyone to mark their calendars for our second Iftar at Deepdale, taking place on Friday 5th April.

As well as supporting the local community, we will also be supporting those in need on the night, including refugees and asylum seekers. Both events have a guestlist and entry on the night will not be permitted without a name being on the guestlist. You can book on one or both events by using the links below.
