Andrew Hughes joined PNE in June 2018, arriving from Peterborough United for an undisclosed fee on a three-year-deal.
In his first season at Deepdale, Hughes made over 30 appearances in all competitions and was a regular in Alex Neil's side before injury forced him out of the final few months of the campaign.
The experienced left back had made over 100 appearances for Posh before making the step up from League One.
Hughes began his career with Newport County where the Cardiff-born defender made almost 150 appearances, winning young player of the year during his time there and also playing in the FA Trophy Final at Wembley.
Hughes was also a part of the Newport team that ended a 25-year absence from the Football League, beating Wrexham 2-0 in the Play-Off final, again under the arch.
In two seasons at Peterborough, after arriving on a free transfer, Hughes proved a consistent performer at left back as a key member of the first team.
