Andrew Hughes joined PNE in June 2018, arriving from Peterborough United for an undisclosed fee on a three-year deal.
In his first season at Deepdale, Hughes made over 30 appearances in all competitions and was a regular in Alex Neil's side before injury forced him out of the final few months of the campaign.
When fit, Hughes continued to be a consistent part of the PNE starting line-up, and that remained the case even after Frankie McAvoy took the reins towards the end of the 2020/21 campaign.
Before making the step up from League One, the left back had made over 100 appearances for Posh, who he joined on a free transfer in 2016.
Hughes began his career with Newport County, where the Cardiff-born defender made almost 150 appearances, winning Young Player of the Year during his time there and also playing in the FA Trophy Final at Wembley.
Hughes was also a part of the Newport team that ended a 25-year absence from the Football League, beating Wrexham 2-0 in the Play-Off final, again under the arch.
