Greg Cunningham became North End’s fourth signing of the summer in 2015, agreeing to a two-year deal at Deepdale.

The Republic of Ireland international joined PNE from Bristol City, where he made 32 appearances for the Robins in their League One title-winning team in 2014/15.

Cunningham started his career at Manchester City, before spending loan spells in the East Midlands with Leicester City and Nottingham Forest.

The defender then joined Bristol City in 2012 for £650,000, and he went on to make almost 100 appearances for the southwest club.

The Galway-born left-back played at youth level for his national side before being making his senior debut in a 3-0 win against Algeria on 28th May 2010.

After a season of consistent performances from the left back, Cunningham picked up the Clubs’ Player of the Year award, and was a fans’ favourite throughout the 2015/16 campaign.
