Jack Whatmough joined Preston North End on a three-year deal in August 2023.
The defender, who had left Wigan Athletic the week before joining PNE, captained the Lilywhites on his debut for the club against Salford City in the Carabao Cup.
With his previous club Wigan, Jack had earned promotion to the Championship during the 2021/22 campaign, with his performances also seeing him win the club's Player of the Season award.
Prior to his time with the Latics, the central defender had featured 136 times for Portsmouth during a 13-year stint with the club.
