Jacob Slater made his professional debut for Preston North End in August 2022, against Huddersfield Town in the Carabao Cup.
The left wing back's performances with the U19s had caught the eye of first team manager Ryan Lowe, who brought the 17-year-old up to Euxton and handed him his first taste of senior action.
Slater was also named on the bench in a Championship game against Luton Town, before a second cup appearance followed against Premier League side Wolves.
Jacob, who joined the club at U12 level, played a key role in the U19s' double-winning season in 2021/22.
