Kian Best

Date of birth

Local lad Kian Best signed his first professional deal with North End in July 2023 and soon made his debut for the first team.

Following an impressive pre-season, Kian earned his senior bow at the age of just 17 on the opening day of the Sky Bet Championship campaign – a 1-1 draw against Bristol City.

Besty continued to play a key role in the opening stages of the season, earning plaudits for his performances, and in particular for his quality of crosses.

He was then rewarded with a first call-up to the England U19 side and things couldn't have gone much better in November 2023, as Kian scored and assisted on debut, and featured twice more as the Young Lions won the Marbella Cup.

His impressive performances for the U19s during their double-winning 2021/22 campaign and then in the 2022/23 season helped catch the eye of manager Ryan Lowe.

A left-footed defender, who is also capable of playing in midfield, Kian has progressed through the PNE Academy since joining as an U9, and one of his key strengths is on set pieces.
