Lewis Coulton put pen to paper on his first professional deal at the club in May 2021 following a successful two years as a scholar.
That contract came after regularly training with the first team, and he got more experience playing with senior members in the Central League, while also joining Northern Premier League Premier Division sides Bamber Bridge and Warrington Town on loan in the 2021/22 campaign.
The left-sided defender has picked up plenty of experience on the international stage, too, progressing through the youth levels with Scotland, up to their U19s who he helped get to the elite round of European Championship qualification.
Lewis' youth team debut with PNE came as an U15, having first linked up with the club’s youth set-up at U11 level, and is a former pupil of Worden Academy in Leyland.
Leyland-born Lewis played in several bounce matches alongside first team players in the 2019/20 season, notably in the Lancashire Senior Cup win at Chorley's Victory Park in September 2019, and he was named as a first team substitute in the 2020/21 campaign.
