Liam Lindsay returned to Deepdale on a permanent basis on 9th June 2021 following a successful loan deal.

The central defender initially made the temporary switch from Stoke City in February of the same year and went on to play 13 times for the Lilywhites in the 2020/21 season, scoring twice in that period.

17 appearances then followed in the 2021/22 campaign, often playing at the centre of the left of a back three.

He then made that position his own at the start of the 2022/23 season, helping PNE begin the campaign with an incredible seven clean sheets, while earning plenty of individual recognition, including a nomination for the Sky Bet Championship Player of the Month award for August 2022.

Liam put pen to paper on a new deal at Deepdale in December 2022, to keep him at the club until at least 2025.

His career began in Scotland, where he made 73 appearances for Partick Thistle, while gaining experience during a couple of loan spells.

In the 2016/17 campaign with the Jags, Liam scored six goals from defence and earned himself a place in the Scottish Premiership Team of the Year - the only non-Celtic or Rangers representative.

His first move to England came in 2017, joining Barnsley, where he won promotion from League One, playing in a defence which conceded just 39 goals over the course of the 46-game season.

In 2019, he moved on to Stoke City for a fee of £2m, potentially rising to £2.5m, but that move didn't quite work out for the Scot as he made just 23 appearances in his two years with the Potters.
