After three loan spells with the Club, Callum Robinson made the permanent switch to Deepdale in the summer of 2016.
Robinson turned down the offer of a new contract with Aston Villa to join the Lilywhites, who have agreed an undisclosed compensation package with the Midlands club, due to him being under the age of 24.
Having initially signed on a month’s loan at the start of the 2014/15 season, the 20-year old had his deal extended to January 2015 but was called back to his parent club on 25th November 2014.
Robinson scored seven goals in 28 appearances during his loan in the 2014/15 season, and spent the first half of the 2015/16 season on loan at Bristol City, but was recalled by parent club Aston Villa to allow his move to Deepdale in January 2016.
Having started his career coming through the ranks at Aston Villa, Callum Robinson initally joined Preston North End on loan on 16th September 2014, and made his debut the same day as a substitute in the 3-3 draw with Chesterfield at Deepdale.
During his time back at Aston Villa, the youngster was limited to spells on the bench for Villa and the forward re-joined North End on loan for the remainder of the 2014-15 season on transfer deadline day in January 2015.
Robinson was a part of the squad that reached the League One Play-Off final that season, but missed the final after returning to Villa at the end of the regular league season.
During his time at Villa, Robinson made five first team appearances, his debut coming in a 4-0 defeat to Tottenham Hotspur in the League Cup in September 2013.
Callum has also represented his country on a number of occasions at youth level, representing England at U16, U17, U19 and U20 level.
Northampton-born Robinson made his England U20 debut in September 2014 against Romania in a 6-0 win, with the forward scoring twice for the young lions.
