Striker Jayden Stockley agreed a three-and-a-half-year deal at Deepdale on 3rd January 2019, North End's second signing of the January transfer window.
Stockley joined North End from Exeter City for an undisclosed fee, with the striker the tops scorer for the Grecians at the time of his departure.
In 98 appearances for the St James Park club, Jayden scored 51 goals and was the top scorer in all four English leagues in 2018, just ahead of Liverpool’s Mo Salah and also scored more headed goals in the calendar year than any player in the top European leagues.
North End beat off the competition of a number of other Championship clubs to sign the Poole-born forward.
Stockley began his career at Bournemouth, where he came through the ranks and enjoyed a number of loan spells between 2011 and 2016. During his time at Bournemouth, he became the second youngest player to ever play for the club when he made his debut against Northampton Town in the Football League Trophy.
In 2016, the forward signed for Aberdeen for the 2016/17 season before joining Exeter City on deadline day in August 2017.
Stockley had previously enjoyed a loan spell with Exeter, scoring ten goals in 22 games, before joining the Grecians permanently for a club record fee.
