After a successful trial, Ben Woodburn became a Preston North End player on 4th July 2022.
The midfielder, whose contract at Liverpool expired in the summer, joined the club on trial at the beginning of pre-season training.
After quickly impressing manager Ryan Lowe - who had attempted to sign him with previous clubs - the midfielder earned himself a contract at Deepdale.
His first goal for the club came at Molineux in a Carabao Cup tie against Wolverhampton Wanderers, before he opened the scoring in a 4-1 victory over local rivals Blackburn Rovers in December 2022.
Woodburn began his career earlier than most, setting a record as Liverpool’s youngest ever goalscorer at the age of 17.
He soon became Wales’ second youngest scorer too, netting a superb match-winning strike from distance against Austria.
Woodburn made 11 appearances as a Liverpool player, while most of his time at Anfield was spent on loan with the likes of Sheffield United and Heart of Midlothian.
