Ryan Ledson joined PNE in the summer of 2018 for an undisclosed fee, arriving from Oxford United and signing a three-year-deal.

Ledson started his career with Everton and graduated from the Toffees academy.

He joined Cambridge United on loan and was an important player at the Abbey Stadium.

Ryan then made a permanent switch to Oxford and began to flourish with the U’s. The young midfielder got plenty of game time and was a key member at the Kassam Stadium.

Before leaving Oxford, the 20-year-old picked up the Player of the Year award, Young Player of the Year and Goal of the Season awards at the end of the 2017/18 season.

In his first season at Deepdale, the tough-tackling midfielder made almost 30 appearances in all competitions as he got his first taste of action in the Sky Bet Championship.

With fierce competition in the middle of the park, Ledson didn't feature as much as he would have liked in the following campaign, but he really came into his own in the 2020/21 season.

In August at the beginning of the campaign, the Liverpool-born midfielder put pen to paper on a new deal running until 2023, and he soon showed why he was given a longer contract.

He was a standout performer for the Lilywhites, so much so that he was handed both the fans' and players' Player of the Year awards.
