Date of birth

Republic of Ireland

Preston North End confirmed the appointment of Dean Kiely as goalkeeper coach on Saturday 16th September 2017.

Kiely teams up with manager Alex Neil and first team coach Frankie McAvoy for second time after the trio led Norwich City to promotion during their time at Carrow Road.

The former Republic of Ireland international goalkeeper brings with him a wealth of experience both as a player and a coach, and will work to further improve the current crop of goalkeepers at PNE.

The 'keeper achieved promotion to the top flight with Charlton Athletic and later West Bromwich Albion and knows what it takes to get out of the Championship.

Kiely also represented Republic of Ireland on a number of occasions during his playing career.

After retiring from playing, in March 2015 Kiely was appointed as goalkeeper coach at Norwich City, before leaving the club in July 2017.
