Jacob Slater was a key player in the U19s’ title-winning 2021/22 campaign.
He started the season in good goal-scoring form, with three in his first two from left wing, but perhaps found his best form at left wing back with his incisive crossing and intelligent defensive positioning.
Slater was particularly impressive in the EFL Youth Alliance Cup Final victory over Luton Town in May 2022, having a hand in the majority of North End’s attacks and constantly finding space down the left flank as his side won 4-1.
He has been at the club since U12 level and will be hoping this season to be staking a claim for a place in the first team.
