Kian Best ended his two-year scholarship by having the option of an extra year triggered by the club.

He made 28 appearances in the 2021/22 campaign, mostly from the bench, and chipped in with a goal against deadly rivals Blackpool in the penultimate league match of the season.

Kian went on to become one of the first names on the teamsheets when fit in the 2022/23 season, with the central defender - who can also operate in midfield - often gliding through games.

The local lad also has an eye for the spectacular, as was seen in the previous campaign when he scored five in league and cup competitions.
