Bristol City Lee Johnson believes that Tuesday night’s game will be a big test for his high-flying side.
Speaking to the Robins’ official website to preview the clash with the Lilywhites, the former City midfielder, is expecting a game of two young teams to be a real spectacle for those in attendance at Ashton Gate.
“This one is actually a bigger test for me than Saturday’s game at Sheffield Wednesday,” Johnson told bcfc.co.uk.
“I say that because of our previous results against Preston on home soil, and over the years in the Championship.
“They’re a good side and I watched them on Friday night. They’ve got some quality players. It’s two youthful teams who will be very energetic and we’re going to need the supporters.
“It feels like a long time since we’ve seen our home fans. We’re looking forward to getting back to Ashton Gate.”
North End have been victorious on their last three visits to City’s home turf, with Simon Makienok and Daniel Johnson on the scoresheet just prior to Christmas last season, bringing home the three points.
