Bring Your Scarf To West Brom Clash!

29 November 2019

The club are supporting a fan-led campaign for the West Bromwich Albion fixture at Deepdale, with all supporters encouraged to bring their voice and their scarf to the match!

A number of supporters' groups have joined forces to encourage fans to bring their favourite PNE scarf to the game and hold it aloft when the teams come out with the hope of replicating the scenes from the 2000s.

Fans have also come together to raise funds for a new surfer flag which they are hopeful will make it's first appearance in the Alan Kelly Town End for this game.

PNE-Online are one of the groups involved, and a spokesman has given the following message to fellow supporters:

"Following the team's great start to the season and to help keep Deepdale a fortress, supporters have been coming together to help improve the atmosphere at home games.

"So far fans have come together to raise nearly £2,000 to have a new surfer flag made which we hope will be unveiled for the televised West Brom game. To tie in with the recreation of the Town End flag, we would like to go one step further and recreate the famous atmosphere of the Old Town End from that time.

"We believe that Alex Neil and the lads deserve a packed out, loud and proud Deepdale.

"As part of this we have come up with the idea of Scarf Night to help us recreate a see of blue and white to show the world that we are proud to support a 'team like Preston'.

"Not only will this keep you warm, we want to try and recreate the images we had back in the 2000s with a sea of blue and white across the whole stadium.

"We are asking every supporter to bring along their scarf and hold it aloft or wave it when the side enter the field at 7.40pm against West Brom.

"If you don't have an old scarf maybe you could treat yourself to a early Christmas present. We know there are thousands of the PNE scarves which were given out under fans' stairs, cupboard and wardrobes, now is the time to dig it out!

"Alongside this please bring along flags, balloons, streamers but most importantly your voices and help keep Deepdale a fortress for this game and for the rest of the season!

"We would also encourage anyone who has not been to Deepdale for a while to get your ticket early and don't miss out on what could be a very special season.

"Deepdale is a Fortress - Lets help keep it that way."
