Merry Christmas: A Message From Peter Ridsdale

24 December 2022

As now seems normal when we reach this time of the year, we reflect on the continuing rollercoaster of life in football and hopefully look forward to what the New Year might bring to us all.

Off the field the Championship continues to be a financial minefield with clubs chasing the riches of the Premier League. The much publicised ‘Fan Led Review’ promises a more even distribution of finance within the football pyramid and 2023 would appear to be the opportunity for such a redistribution to become reality. If so, it will give us all a more level playing field, as well as easing the financial burden on existing owners.

On the field we have made real progress under Ryan Lowe and, as we enter the holiday period, we sit 7th in the league, on the same points and equal goal difference as QPR in 6th spot. We reiterate our ambition to take PNE to the Premier League and will do all that we can do to make such a dream a reality as soon as we possibly can.

The end of every year also gives us time to reflect on those who we have lost during the year; friends, family and a reminder of 'The Gentry’ who are no longer with us.

As we enter the holiday season it doesn’t matter what your religion is or what your beliefs are, it is a time for families to come together and enjoy the festive period.

On behalf of everyone at Preston North End Football Club, Craig, my colleagues on the Board, Ryan, the players and all of our staff, we send you all our very best wishes and most importantly thank you for your continued support.
