Cardiff City Fixture Dedicated To Her Game Too

9 March 2023

In partnership with Preston North End, Preston North End Community and Education Trust [PNECET] will dedicate this Saturday’s fixture against Cardiff City to the Her Game Too campaign.

Founded in May 2021, Her Game Too is an award-winning campaign tackling sexist abuse in sport.

The campaign was founded almost a year ago by 12 female football fans upon the values of support, empowerment and progress with the aim of creating an ethos within football, online and in real life, that is welcoming and inclusive of women.

It was created and continues to be run by female football fans who are committed to growing the campaign with the aim of fostering an ethos in football in which women are welcomed and respected equally.

The fixture also coincides with International Women’s Day, which officially took place on Wednesday 8th March and is celebrated throughout this week.

International Women’s Day is a global day celebrating the social, economic, cultural and political achievements of women. The day also marks a call to action for accelerating gender parity.

In Saturday’s warm-up, PNE players will be wearing Her Game Too t-shirts which have kindly been donated by Funky Graphics.

Members of Preston North End Women's Junior Football Club, PNECET Weetabix Wildcats and Preston Muslim Girls High School will be forming a guard of honour from the tunnel and taking part in the half-time penalty shootout.

The Trust will also host ambassadors and associates of the Her Game Too campaign, while there will be selfie frames around the stadium pre-match and Her Game Too volunteers will be collecting on behalf of PNECET.
