Greg Ready To Give His All

5 January 2017

Defender Greg Cunningham and his teammates will be doing everything they can to cause a cup upset on Saturday evening.

North End host Premier League side Arsenal in the third round of the FA Cup, and despite expecting a tough game from the Gunners, Cunningham insists he and his teammates will be going into the game with confidence.

Speaking of the tie, the 25-year-old said: "It's a big game, every time the FA Cup third round comes around all the big teams come into it and everyone is looking for that glamour tie and we've got a nice home draw against one of the top teams in the competition.

"It's going to be tough, we know that, they might make some changes but they have such a strength in depth that it doesn't matter who they put out, it's still going to be a very tough game and we know that.

"We have worked hard in training and we will do more on Friday and come 5.30pm on Saturday we will make sure we are ready to go.

North End will be the underdogs at the weekend, but that is something that the squad have dealt with on a number of occasions this season and Saturday will be no different.

"Even in some of the games in the league we go in as underdogs so nothing has changed in that respect. There is great confidence in this dressing room, we know like everyone what Arsenal are about but we might be a bit of an unknown to them.

"So we will see how things go but we will give it our all and hopefully we can put in a good performance and get a nice result."

"It's a good marker for us as players, we are playing against one of the best teams in the country so it's a great insight into how far we have come and where we are at.

"We will give it everything we have and hopefully we will be in the next round."
