PNE boss Simon Grayson declared to PNE PlayerHD that he wasn't content with just a point at St Andrew's this evening.
A point away from home against a team currently in the top six would have been a creditble result tonight, yet the gaffer felt his side had done enough to claim maximum points at St Andrew's this evening.
North End took the lead on two occasions, firstly through Alex Baptiste and then courtesy of Daniel Johnson but the Lilywhites were pegged back both times by Ryan Shotton and then by Che Adams.
It meant PNE returned back up the M6 with a share of the points after an entertaining 2-2 draw.
"When we came down this morning, we'd have taken a point," admitted Grayson to PNE PlayerHD after the final whistle.
"They're in the top six and been in and around the Play-Offs so it's a difficult place to come.
However, we had some really good chances when we were 2-1 up but unfortunately we didn't take them so it's tinged with a bit of disappointed but the effort was there, we broke quickly and had some really good chances.
"We're pleased with the performance but disappointed we've not been as ruthless as we could have been."
The North End manager also reflected on the positives post-match and was glad to have continued the momentum from the past two results.
"We've come a long way from a week or so ago and we've got to take that energy, confidence and quality into the game next weekend.
"To come to a place like this and create the number of chances we did is pleasing but we're disappointed that we couldn't withstand the pressure.
"We were playing against a real stong striker tonight in (Lukas) Jutkiewicz and he's led the line well for them.
"We seem to be very evenly matched when you look at the two results last year and tonight but we've given a good account of ourselves tonight."
