“Bad Day For Everybody”, Says Simon Grayson

13 September 2014

Preston North End manager Simon Grayson admits that Saturday’s defeat at Walsall was a bad day at the office for the football club.

The Lilywhites lost 3-1 to the Saddlers and had Jordan Hugill sent off in a disappointing day in the Midlands.

Speaking to PNE Player following the match, Grayson said: “When you look back since I have been at the football club, we have not underperformed like we probably did today.

“Some of the players were off the button as such; we knew this was a tough place to come.

“Alright, we had a great result last year but that was last year.

“We knew they were a team desperate to get a result and we gave them too much encouragement to try and get in the ascendency.

“We didn’t match them, we didn’t win too many individual battles, and when you look at the course of the game it has been a bad day for everybody.”
