Gaffer: We Will Concentrate On Ourselves

26 February 2015

Manager Simon Grayson will not change his preparation for the Oldham Athletic clash in light of the departure of manager Lee Johnson.

The gaffer told PNE Player the focus, as always, will be on how his side prepare for the upcoming game at Boundary Park but admits it is harder to know what to expect when a club gets a new manager.

"It changes it a little bit in terms of working out what Dean [Holden, temporary manager] will do with the players, do they change the system, does he bring different players in, I know they have one or two injury concerns anyway.

"It will be what it will be, basically we've got to concentrate on what we need to do, and we do that week in and week out. We're respectful of the opposition, we get people watched, we analyse DVDs  on them because we want to give ourselves the best opportunity to see something that will hopefully win us the match.

"But ultimately it's about what our players go out and do, I think nine times out of ten, if our players really go and perform like they can do, pass the ball really well, play without it with tempo and closing down, we've got players that can win any game.

"So we are certainly respectful and the players will be playing for Dean, whether it's to get him the job or whether it's a prospective new manager watching and they're playing for their future. I don't know whether it makes it any more difficult or less difficult I'm not quite sure but we just have to go there professionally and try and get the three points."
