Give The Fans Something To Cheer

14 February 2013

Bailey Wright made it clear that he and the team want to make the fans proud of their team against at Deepdale this weekend.

The Aussie defender returns from suspension to be in the reckoning for selection for John Dreyer’s first game in charge as caretaker manager and he wants the terraces to have something to cheer about.

“Preston is a massive Club with quality fans,” he told the official website. “They haven’t been happy with the results in recent weeks, and we want to give them something to cheer about be happy about and be proud of their team again.

“To do that we have to win games. That’s what we want to do and we want to do it for the Club, the fans and everyone who is part of it.”

The No.26 sat out what proved to be Graham Westley’s final game as PNE boss after a bizarre red card at Colchester seven days ago, but is looking forward to locking horns with the npower League One leaders.

“I was gutted to miss the game on Tuesday. I always want to play in every game that I can, but unfortunately I was suspended,” he continued.

“I am available for selection against Bournemouth, who are on a great run of form, but they are coming to Deepdale and we have to turn it back into our home, get going and get the three points.

“Eddie Howe was well-liked when he was down there first time around and he has gone back and done brilliantly and they have a good squad of players, so it won’t be easy, but no games are in this division.”

He will be working under yet another new manager. Being the Club’s longest-serving player, he has seen plenty of change, but has enjoyed the short time of working under John Dreyer.

“I’ve been at the Club for four years and I’ve seen a lot of changes, but it is nice to still be here and be part of things and I want to get the Club back on winning ways. That is obviously what the Club’s ambitions are and therefore they’ve made changes.

“John gets on well with all the lads and the session he put on today was really good. We have to get enjoyment in football and we want to get the win on Saturday.

“Results lately haven’t been good, but we are not going to let that get to us, we are going to go into Saturday confident and looking to win.

“John has been great for us so far and tried to pick the lads up a bit and hopefully we can get the result.”
