Laird Reflects On 'Fabulous February'

2 March 2015

Scott Laird looks back at a superb February that saw the Lilywhites win all five league games in the month and close the gap on the top two.

Named 'fabulous February' around the training ground, Laird tells PNE Player confidence is high but nothing has been achieved yet and it must continue for the rest of the season, starting at Deepdale on Tuesday night.

"We're very happy, we've had a great month, everyone's calling it fabulous February after the January we had but it's been a great month. We've answered a few critics but we've done nothing yet, we still have 14 very big games to come, starting with tomorrow night against Doncaster.

"We need to be fully at it like we have been all the way through February to ultimately get to where we want to be.

"At the start of the season, you talk about how you don't look at the table until half way through, ten or 15 games in, until it takes shape. But now you call it the business end of the season and once you start posting three points again and again, people do take notice of that and it does create pressure.

"I've been in both situations, being chased at the top, but also chasing and again what we are doing this year is we are chasing and it does affect the top teams. Teams are always looking over their shoulder, especially when it's coming to the business end of the season, if you can keep posting those three points, people will start dropping points around you.
