North End Capture Manchester United Forward

8 July 2015

Preston North End have completed the season long loan of Manchester United forward Will Keane.

The England U21 international striker became the Club’s third summer signing, following the permanent arrivals of Jermaine Beckford and Paul Gallagher, when he put pen to paper on Wednesday evening.

Stockport-born Keane, who will take the No.9 shirt at Deepdale, spent the second half of last season on loan in the Championship at Sheffield Wednesday and the Lilywhites beat off a host of Championship clubs to complete the deal.

Speaking about his 22-year-old addition, manager Simon Grayson said: “We are delighted to have signed Will. He has got fantastic movement and he is a goalscorer.

“He suffered a bad injury a few years ago, but he is hungry and after meeting him he ticks every box we are looking for.

“We have pulled off a bit of a coup beating several other Championship clubs to him and I do feel he is going to be a major asset to our squad.”

Keane added that he was excited to get started: "I'm really excited to be here and I'm looking forward to the new season and the challenge ahead.

"I want to come here and do my best to help the team. They had a very successful year last year and hopefully the whole Club and the team can build on that this season."
