Patience Is Key For Chris Humphrey And Co

24 February 2015

Preston North End winger Chris Humphrey believes that the Lilywhites were good value for their hard fought victory over Walsall on Tuesday night.

An early onslaught on the Saddlers’ goal saw Richard O’Donnell rescue the West Midlands Club on more than one occasion before Daniel Johnson made the breakthrough after 18 minutes.

And that single goal proved to be enough for Simon Grayson’s men who made it four wins on the spin in Sky Bet League One.

Speaking exclusively to PNE Player following the full time whistle, Humphrey – who set up Johnson’s goal, said: “We dug in and we finally got the goal after 18 minutes and I think that relaxed us a little bit.

“We hit the bar, we hit the post and I thought we were good today.

“The gaffer always says that there is no rush to score goals and we have great players in the team who can score at any time as long we are on it and playing our best, so there is no rush to score goals for us.

“We just take our time and try to find that killer pass or that nice bit of play to try and get a goal.

“It came in the end and from there I think we just kicked on.”
