Summer signing Calum Woods was delighted to have been selected in the starting Xl on Saturday, given the strong competition in the side.
It was the right back's first competitive game at Deepdale and he is hoping he can continue to play his part, starting tomorrow night at Rochdale in the Capital One Cup.
"Pre-season went really well, and everyone was battling for the shirt for Saturday, I got the shirt and I was delighted to get it, and to get my first game at Deepdale, it was brilliant."
The 27-year-old hasn't had too much success in the Cup previously, but he is relishing the challenge this time around and is looking to get a good cup run going.
"You want to get a good run in the Cup and see how far you can go, because you can get some Premier League teams if you get through a couple of rounds so you want to go as far as you can and get the momentum going.
