Left back David Buchanan is hoping that an assured performance against Shrewsbury Town on Tuesday night is enough to elevate him into PNE’s starting XI.
“I have not played for a while, but we will get back in on Thursday, train again, and hopefully come next week, if I put another good week in at training, then hopefully I might just be starting.”
“When you go out onto that pitch on a Saturday or a Tuesday night, you have just got to give everything you can and then it gives the gaffer a question to answer.
Speaking to PNE Player, Buchanan said: “The gaffer knows what I can do, I am an experienced player, played a lot of games, and that is all you can do [wait for your chance].
And he is hoping that his display has left manager Simon Grayson with food for thought over the Club’s weekend off.
The North End No.16 made his first start of the 2014/15 season and impressed throughout the contest.
