Match Preview: Coventry City (H), FA Youth Cup

6 December 2023

Preston North End U18s begin their FA Youth Cup campaign at Deepdale on Wednesday evening as they take on Coventry City in the third round.

Season card holders will be able to attend the 7pm kick-off for free upon production of their season card, while adults without a season card will be charged £5, and U16s and over 65s tickets will be priced at £1.

The Sir Tom Finney Stand will be open to supporters, and parking is free for all fans.

Fans who can’t make it to the match will be able to watch live from home on iFollow PNE. Streaming of the fixture will be completely free, however fans will need to have an iFollow account.

North End will be hoping to replicate their performances from last year’s competition, as the U18s made it to the quarter-finals courtesy of victories over Rotherham United, Gillingham and Luton Town.

PNE were 6-1 winners in the third round last year against Rotherham, with young Argentine Felipe Rodriguez-Gentile scoring five on a memorable afternoon at Deepdale.

Meanwhile, Coventry City were beaten 3-2 by Southampton at the same stage, and the Saints were the side who went on to beat the Lilywhites in the quarter-finals.

The Sky Blues – a Category 2 Academy – sit fifth currently in the U18 Professional Development League, while PNE top the Youth Alliance League.
